Opened in August 2012, our Mass Ave clinic is located on East Street, just off of Massachusetts Avenue. Our facilities include three exam rooms, a pharmacy, treatment area, surgery room, x-ray, and dental area.

DR. KURT PHILLIPS
Visionary/CEO + Veterinarian

Education:
Butler University, B.S. in Biology, 1992
Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine, DVM, 1996

Personal + Professional:
Dr. Phillips has been a veterinarian since 1996, a veterinary clinic owner since 2000, and owner of City Way Animal Clinics since 2012. His special interests include canine reproduction and English bulldogs. When he’s not working, he’s reading up on entrepreneurship, business, and how to craft an excellent cocktail. He enjoys traveling, live music, and good food.

Loves of his Life:
Kurt and his wife, Julia, have two awesome kids, Emma and Jude. They’re empty nesters now, but are still busy taking care of their two dog-kids, Jenner (Vizsla) and Lexington “Lex” (French Bulldog).

KEN CLARKE

Ken brought his passion for health and animals to City Way Animal Clinics in 2012 as a veterinary technician, and has risen through the ranks to our leadership team. He has a passion for community outreach, team culture, and animal wellness. When Ken isn’t making sure things are running smoothly at our clinics, he’s focused on molding a healthy lifestyle. He has a passion for physical and mental health, and you can often find him at the gym.

Ken and his husband, Mark, enjoy city life in Indianapolis.

DR. ANNA JONES
Veterinarian

Education:

Personal + Professional:
Dr. Jones came to City Way Animal Clinics in 2020 with seven years of veterinary experience from her time living in San Francisco, CA. She believes compassionate care and offering the best medicine is the key to providing the best veterinary care, and her interests include client education and internal medicine. When she’s not in the clinic, she can be found outside hiking or just enjoying the day.

Loves of her Life:
Anna and her husband, Eric, love spending time with their pupper Miles (Pembroke Welsh Corgi) and their cat, Trevor.

DR. JESSICA SQUIRES
Veterinarian

Personal + Professional:
Dr. Squires brought her fresh perspective and compassion to City Way Animal Clinics in 2018. Her special interests include oncology, internal medicine, and client education. When she’s not at the clinic, she’s running, practicing yoga, and boating with friends and family. She loves the Pacers and IndyCar.

Loves of her Life:
Jessica loves her fur babies! Finch (Yellow English Lab) keeps a watchful eye on his two mischievous siblings, Ford (Tabby cat) and Emmy (spunky tripod kitty.)

DR. MADELEINE BRYAN
Veterinarian

Personal + Professional:
Dr. Bryan came to City Way Animal Clinics in 2021 as a new graduate and is passionate about animal welfare and ethics. She believes the key to providing the best veterinary care is compassion, listening, and client education. Dr. Bryan has special interests in surgery, ophthalmology, and pain management / rehabilitation. She travels whenever she can and loves experiencing different cultures. She has an appreciation for hiking in the mountains and visiting her family.

Loves of her Life:
Madeleine and her boyfriend, Scott, adore their Pitbull mix, Luna, who goes everywhere with them.

LUCINDA S.
Lead Veterinary Technician

Harrison College, Associates of Veterinary Technology, 2014

Personal + Professional:
Lucinda returned to City Way Animal Clinics in 2020 with seven years of  experience in the veterinary field. She believes the best veterinary care depends upon knowledge, compassion, and empathy. Lucinda has a special interest in anesthesia and is especially passionate about client education. When she’s not at the clinic, she enjoys line dancing, swing dancing, video games, and anything hands-on!

Lucinda and her husband Austin have a son, Xavier, and two pups, Alphonse (pug) and Bridgette (miniature pinscher).

CAROLINE B.
Lead Customer Service Representative

Personal + Professional:
Caroline has flourished at City Way Animal Clinics since 2017 and she has been a CSR since 2016. When she’s not making sure Mass Ave Animal Clinic runs smoothly, she’s cooking or checking out the Indy’s food scene. She enjoys live music, drinking red wine out of a box, and if she never had to work again she would travel the world.

Loves of her Life:
Caroline and her husband, Collan, live in Indy with their two dogs, Earl and Harvey (both mutts); and two cats, Marley and Stella.

Veterinary Assistant

Personal + Professional:
Michael brought his compassion and care for animals to City Way Animal Clinics in 2018 and has been in the veterinary field since 2016 in Bloomington. He loves animals of all shapes, sizes, and varieties. When he’s not treating his patients, he’s drumming, skateboarding, and lounging with his kitties.

Michael has four siblings and a niece. His best friends include his two cats, Mordecai and Cowboy.

Registered Veterinary Technician

Personal + Professional:
Abbey came to City Way Animal Clinics in 2020 with 12 years of experience as a registered veterinary technician, clinical manager, team leader, and ICU supervisor. She believes the key to providing the best veterinary care is client relationships and education, empathy for clients and patients, and a focus on the best veterinary medicine and customized care. Abbey has a special interest in advanced critical care, client relationships, and team education, and is passionate about the environment and healthy habits. When she’s not at the clinic, you can find her gardening and caring for her house plants, oil painting, crocheting.

Loves of her Life:
Abbey and her husband, Lucas, care for their two boys, Aidan and Dimitri, as well as a large furry, feathery family! Their two dogs, Layla (retriever mix) and Nora (their adorable Frenchie), share a home with four cats, Jeebus (the bathroom cat), Apollo (the Bengal boy), Stinky Von Stinkerton (it’s all in the name), and Madame Maggie (the only girl cat), and a cockatiel named Iroh (Aidan’s bestie).

Meet our clinic cat, Maac! He’s the star of the show and can usually be found in our lobby, greeting everyone that walks in the door. Sometimes his curiosity gets the best of him and he’s been known to open exam room doors on his own.
